Privacy Notice

Last updated: November 2026

This notice explains how Dance Xtreme collects and uses personal information about pupils, parents, carers and schools, and about visitors to this website. We take looking after your information, and your children's, very seriously.

Who we are

Dance Xtreme is a children's dance school run by Laura Andrews, the principal. For data protection law, Dance Xtreme is the "controller" of your information. You can contact us about anything in this notice:

  • Phone: 07817 966547
  • Post: Dance Xtreme, 16 Horseshoe Way, Ash, Canterbury, Kent, CT3 2EH
  • Email: via our contact page

What information we collect

  • Enquiries: when you use our contact form, phone or email us, we receive your name, email address, phone number and your message.
  • Class registration: when your child joins, we collect the details on our registration form, such as your child's name, date of birth and class, parent or carer names and contact details, emergency contacts, and any medical conditions, allergies or additional needs you choose to tell us about so that we can keep your child safe.
  • Payments: a record of fees paid. Online payments are handled by PayPal; we never see or store your card details.
  • Schools: names and work contact details of school staff who book dance teaching or workshops.
  • Photos and videos: photos or recordings of classes, shows and events, only with a parent's or carer's consent.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to enquiries and book taster classes (legitimate interests, or steps before entering into a contract).
  • To run classes, exams, shows and events, take fees and keep in touch about term dates and changes (contract).
  • To keep children safe, including emergency contacts and health information (vital interests and, for health information, your explicit consent).
  • To keep financial records (legal obligation).
  • To use photos or videos on this website, social media or show recordings (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
  • To understand how this website is used through Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (consent).

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or send marketing from other organisations.

Who we share it with

We only share information where we need to:

  • Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email.
  • PayPal, which processes online payments under its own privacy policy.
  • Google, for website analytics if you consent, and for the maps on our locations pages.
  • Emergency services or medical staff, if a child needs urgent help.
  • Anyone we are legally required to share it with, for example for safeguarding.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for up to 12 months if you do not go on to join. Pupil records are kept while your child attends Dance Xtreme and for up to 2 years after they leave, except where we must keep records longer, such as financial records (6 years) or any record of an accident or safeguarding concern. After that, information is securely deleted or shredded.

Cookies on this website

We only use Google Analytics cookies if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. They tell us, anonymously, which pages are visited so we can improve the site. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Some pages include content from other websites: Google Maps on our locations pages and our Facebook page feed on the news page. Those services may set their own cookies, as described in their privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you or your child
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask us to delete information or restrict how we use it
  • object to how we use it, or withdraw consent (for example for photos) at any time
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere

Just get in touch using the details above and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
